Building & Design

Expanded Roofing

All aspects of the roof have been updated in Envisioneer 3.0, making roofing the feature highlight of this version. Several new construction and editing tools give you the power to create complex roof configurations with total ease.

Break Points. Add break points to fascia edges to alter the shape of the roof mid-fascia.

Forced Gables. Add two break points to any fascia and create a gable at that segment. You can further shape the segment for mansards, curves, etc.

Grip Editing. Multiple new grips allow you to edit individual roof segments quickly and easily. Click and drag grips to stretch corners and edges.

Explode Roof. Roofs can be exploded into individual surface elements for ultimate flexibility in editing.

New Wall Shaping Tools

New wall properties let you easily slope or step the top or bottom of a wall. Great for creating stepped foundations or walls under stairs.

Door Sills

Display doorsills using material sizes of your choice.

Enhanced Member Insertion

Use the Members by Matching Plane function to insert a member at a selected plane in space. Now you can create a roof member configuration using any combination of structural members.

Custom Surface Tool

Insert a roof, ceiling or floor surface at any plane in space using any selected material. An invaluable tool for creating those complicated structures.

Stepped Footings

Footings now automatically shape themselves to stepped foundation walls. Ideal for uneven terrain or sloping lots.

Floor Framing Enhancements

Select any material for your floor rim joists, and display them when viewing framing.

Shed Builder Wizard

Creating a custom shed or storage structure is a snap — just select the style, size and materials you want, and watch the wizard build it for you instantly.

Replace Tool

Instantly replace any element in your drawing with another selection from the catalog. For example, select several windows and automatically replace them with one of a different size or type. A huge timesaver.

Deck Ledgers

You can now use a ledger board to attach a deck to your home.

More Curving

You can now curve landscape edging and footings for added design flexibility.

CAD to 3D

Use the new CAD to 3D tool to convert lines, arcs and circles to actual building elements such as walls, members and footings.

Viewing & Display

Interactive View Maps

A new properties panel is now displayed when you switch to a 3D camera, elevation or section view. You can now just click and drag cameras, targets or plan marks in the interactive panel and see immediate results in the main view window.

3D Stereo Glasses

Slip on a pair of 3D glasses while viewing your 3D model and feel like you’re actually there, with every detail popping out at you. Envisioneer is also the first 3D design product to offer real-time navigation in this 3D Stereo mode.

Dynamic Cutaway

This exciting new tool lets you strip away a portion of your 3D model so that you can see inside it. By sliding a selected clipping plane back and forth, you can create a moving cross-section of your design.

Improved View Filter

The View Filter now shows only those elements and objects that exist in your design, making display and selection filtering faster and easier. Elements are grouped according to how they are constructed, providing you with real-world ease of use.

Improved Rendering Interface

3DTrueView™ rendering is now controlled from a single viewer dialog for improved ease-of-use and efficiency. Also, rendering may now be up to 50 times faster!

Scroll Bars

New horizontal and vertical scroll bars in the drawing area allow you to pan around the screen with greater ease and speed.

Drafting & Annotation

Easier Image Import

When importing views into a view window, you can now preview, select and insert the image from a single dialog, saving valuable time when assembling drawing sheets.

Labels

Using the new Labels tool you can create and save a custom library of words and phrases for quick and easy annotation.

Enhanced Dimensions

New Room Dimensions. Pick the perimeter points of a room and insert the auto-calculated room dimensions where you like.

Improved Auto-Exterior Dimensions. Duplicate dimension strings have been eliminated, greatly reducing cleanup time.

Member Schedules

Automatically tag and annotate your members, and insert a customizable, color-coded member schedule onto your drawing.

Block Section Detail

When using the Masonry Section tool, you can now choose to display a block detail instead of a brick detail.

File Management & Settings

Multi-Save Backups

With the new customizable auto-save backup system you can specify how many backup copies you want to save — the ultimate in safety.

North Arrow Properties

When defining your global location, you can use the new graphical indicator to define the angle of True North. Just click and drag to rotate.
